- notes
- 01/30/25 - things: chocolate-covered biscuit sticks - this has been our go-to treat during barnes & nobles visits. and just today a fellow cafe goer let me know that they're sold in some grocery stores. I knew they looked familiar!
- 01/27/25 - books: the terminal list, #1 of series (carr) - note 01/27/25, preface + prologue: funny; I first got this book as a macho/manly chapter book for a high-schooler. however it's probably more appropriate for me because as much as I love a romantic comedy, I'm also a fan of action movies (as long as they are more action and less scary/gore). so far I am impressed that he was an actual Navy Seal and actually sent his books to be cleared by the government before publishing (as noted in his preface), and also it appears that his writing style gets the point and description across without a 'gut-punch'.
- 01/18/25 - books: every summer after (fortune) - note 01/23/25, 7 chapters: so far my go-to bedtime book. - note 01/18/25, 3.5 chapters: this is a book I started sometime last year and that I'll throw in rotation. I have the author's book that came out after this and the one that came out before this is technically in rotation as well and about 10+ chapters in. I did a mini reading pause with it to let a turning point in the story marinate and started this one. and I just checked that she has a 4th one coming out that I do plan to get - even though I don't quite know how she ends stories, but what I do know is that I enjoy her writing style and tone.
- 01/15/25 - things: sweater dress + cardigan set, brown - I love a cardigan
- 01/15/25 - things: strawberry candies - these are those nostalgia grandma candies :)
- 01/14/25 - books: the little paris bookshop (george, transl. by pare) - note 01/18/25, 13 chapters: taking a mini pause to process chapters 11 and 12. I really should have given more breathing room between the two, but it was around bedtime and I just kept going. part of my pause may be jumping back into a previous book for a chapter or two. I feel validated in doing so because the main character in this book noted that he reads books 20 at a time; ha! note 01/14/25, 1 chapter: I bought this some time back and expect a charming, feel-good book. we will see.
- 01/14/25 - things: tall planter box, black - found this from this pin here
- 01/11/25 - things: cowboy boot, black, men's/unisex - a beautiful black boot. it appears to be for men, but I was looking at this for myself actually.
- 01/11/25 - books: the mermaid from jeju (hahn) - note 01/11/25, 1 chapter: did I pick up this book because it had the word 'mermaid' in it? of course I did. however, I see that I'm in for a historical fiction treat. I am hoping for an easy read with subtle writing over raw/difficult moments (i.e. - in general, I don't like descriptions in books/movies/media that are too gut-punching)
